Olivia received her BA in Psychology from Chapman University in 2015. Post-graduation she worked as a lab manager (see publication here) at the University of Southern California’s Preventative Medicine department in the Keck School of Medicine. Her master’s degrees are in Psychological Research and Social Ecology (from California State University, Long Beach and the University of California, Irvine [UCI], respectively). She received her PhD in Psychological Science from UCI, majoring in Health Psychology and minoring in Quantitative Methods.
She has been recognized with awards such as the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship and UCI’s Provost and Nevin Fellowships.
At UCI, her dissertation focused on mindful parenting and biobehavioral attunement in parents. To support these interdisciplinary interests, Olivia’s training has focused on salivary bioscience and community-based research methods. She is now on the job market in hopes of finding a Research Scientist position to contribute to research on health and health inequity.
Pictured here is her collaborative contribution to the “You Are Loved” mural located in UCI’s Social Ecology-I building (mural designed by artist Alex Cook). In addition to painting, she is passionate about bringing trauma-informed practices into professional settings and enjoys spending time outside with her dog, Rocko.
